Laboratory Greenhouse effect simulation

Laboratory Greenhouse effect simulation Tube. Duration : 1.85 Mins.

Experiment to Demonstrate the Greenhouse Effect. 2 conical flasks are placed on an overhead projector and left to come to a stable temperature. This temperature is recorded. Carbon dioxide is generated through a reaction of calcium carbonate and 2 molar hydrochloric acid. One of the conical flasks is supplied with this carbon dioxide creating a CO2 rich atmosphere. The other flask is left unchanged. After 10 minutes the temperature is recorded again. The temperature of the flask with a carbon dioxide atmosphere was found to increase by 4.5 deg C whereas the temperature of the flask with a normal atmosphere remained unchanged
